Specialist private tuition for children with dyslexia

For primary-age children

I am fully booked for tuition at this time. The Patoss website offers a searchable index of qualified specialist tutors. You will need to register, but it is free to use.

Many dyslexic children in mainstream education have never felt what it is like to succeed, leading to negative feelings about themselves and education.

These children may think differently, but they don’t need fixing – they just need to be shown how to achieve their potential!

How private tuition can help

Each child is unique and I tailor lessons to meet their individual learning needs. They discover tools and techniques that suit them, which they can then use at school.

When children experience success their self-esteem grows and they begin to feel enthusiastic about learning, helping them to realise their potential – in school and beyond.

My son enjoys his lessons with Libby and his confidence is growing

How it works

Before you start

Private tuition works best when it is designed around a profile of your child's individual strengths and weaknesses. You can get this information from a dyslexia assessment.

More information
  • All children are different and learning is personalised using a proven, best-practice approach. I monitor and regularly review progress.
  • I'll provide weekly tasks for you to do at home. These are mostly game-based or short, manageable activities that support your child's progress, but they are not compulsory.
  • Striking a balance with school work and home life is a priority – some young children are simply too tired at the end of the school day.
  • Communication with your child's class teacher and/or SENCo is welcomed. I share both short and long-term learning objectives with them where possible.
  • Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to discuss more about my approach.
£46 per session Includes preparation & resources

Progress reviews

Periodically (usually after 20 sessions) I'll review your child's progress against their longer-term objectives. We can meet to discuss the findings and adjust our approach where required.
